Welcome to the Stevenage Start of Summertime Specials (SSOSS) event page.
Each year CyclingUK Stevenage (formerly Stevenage and North Herts CTC) organises a series of events to celebrate the start of summertime.
This year there are 3 different routes to choose from depending on your preference of distance.
All rides feature in the Cycling UK Summer Challenge Rides Series.
We encourage everyone to enter in advance.

Event Information
We held our first planning meeting on Monday 14 January 2019 - routes and all other details will be confirmed here soon. Most of the following information is from the 2018 ride.
We have 3 different routes to choose from, these have been updated for 2019 with new stops including Church Hall teas at Braughing:
Ride: Approximately 50 kilometres |
Route: From Stevenage to Reed, Hare Street, Braughing and back to Stevenage. |
Start time: 11:00 am (arrive at the start by 10:30 am) |
Time allowed: Up to 6 hours |
Price: £8 (£6 members) |
Ride: Approximately 100 kilometres |
Route: From Stevenage to Reed, Newport, Thaxted and back to Stevenage via Braughing. |
Start time: 10:30 am (arrive at the start by 10:00 am) |
Time allowed: Up to 9 hours and 30 minutes |
Price: £8 (£6 members) |
Ride: 160 kilometres (100 miles) |
Route: Stevenage to Reed, Newport, Thaxted, Finchingfield, Toppesfield, New England and back to Stevenage via Thaxted and Braughing. |
Start time: 09:00 am (arrive at the start by 08:30 am) |
Time allowed: Up to 11 hours |
Price: £8 (£6 members) |
Safety note: You may need to carry lights, sunset in Stevenage on the day is at 19:21 BST.
Please note that all on the day entries will be £10 and subject to availability.

Online entries for 2019 have now opened. You can make online entries using the link. The online system will close on 25 March 2019 however you will still be able to enter on the day.
If you would like to make a postal entry then you can download and print the 2019 entry form. Details of who to send it to and what to include is all on the form.
